Cake, anyone?

I am SO SO SO excited to share this with you!
One year old "smash the cake" sessions have become so popular...but I was having a hard time finding perfect cakes for the occasion. Sure, there are the ones you can get at the grocery store, but they are so generic and usually they don't even taste very good.
I found the perfect cake designer and her prices are unbelievable!

Baby's first year cakes start at just $20! They are completely custom made. You can even give her a copy of the invitations for the party and she will match the colors and theme to perfection.
This shoot was centered around a little blue stuffed elephant that baby E's brother and sisters gave him at the hospital when he was born. Baby E's mom was amazing and took a picture with her growing newborn and the elephant each month of his first year. (Such a cute idea!) Not only did it show how much baby had grown over the past 12 months but it became the theme for his first year birthday party!

Not only are the cakes almost too cute to dig into...they taste amazing! I can't imagine any one year old not digging right in and creating the perfect mess any photographer is dying to get for a perfect one year old shoot!

Perfect size for a one year old ready to celebrate!

Cakes by LE makes more than just one year old baby cakes. She can make just about anything your heart desires.
I am giving away a $20 gift certificate for you to buy something of your own from

You can imagine my desire to rewind my son to have one of her cakes in my pictures. Maybe then he wouldn't have cried so much and would have eaten it with dignity instead of tears!

Amazing cakes, I may just try her out!

Katie,
I am SO glad that you are back from summer break! I have been checking you blog often, meeting with disappointment. Thanks for sharing your talen with us, and the new find of a beautiful cake maker!

I have always wondered how you are able to do the sun in the corner of pictures without totally ruining the rest of the picture. Do you have a hood for your camera that you use, or do you just adjust your settings. Or is it a photoshop trick that I don't know about. Regardless of how you do it, it is beautiful. I love, love, love the sun in so many of your photos!
