Let's get back to some of the basics of photography. Tips that anyone can use, no matter what camera they have.
One thing that has helped my photography the most is focusing on the subject I want. This means moving in closer. Don't be afraid move right in. Your kids will get used to it and you will LOVE the results.
The picture of Haleigh's feet was taken with a piece of crap camera. Setting? She was sitting on the rocking chair in my bedroom. The light was coming in perfect and set this up for a nice shot. Point? You don't need a DSLR to get a shot that will mean everything to you. I never want to forget those little painted toe nails.
This was taken today. I wanted a close up picture of her little face while blowing bubbles. Don't forget to take pictures of the everyday moments that seem insignificant at the time. These are the types of pictures I love the most because it represents our life. Getting all dressed up and posed is not real life for me. Assignment for the week: Move in close! Take a shot of something that represents your everyday life. Watch your background and keep it focused on your subject.

I beg to differ. I can only recall one photo of your sweet girl in, well, nothing. And her hair is always done...
Compared to my sweet girl who never has clothes or a bow...what's your tips there? ;-)
