Back Up...and Running!

We had a magical Christmas and A lazy New Year!
I am excited to get things back up and running. I realize that there will always be people who think they are above the rules and will continue to think they take what ever they want...but I am not going to let it stop me from sharing. I love photography. I love to help people learn to take great pictures of their kids, so I guess I will just have to deal with the few who think they are entitled to what ever they want.

I have quite a few New Year Resolutions when it comes to my own photography. I was really interested in the new kit of the month from Becky Higgins, but it sold out in the first 30 minutes. I was pretty bummed, but I can still participate with the idea of the kit and would encourage you to do the same! Read about it and start taking pictures! Scrap booking kind of creeps me out. I start feeling overwhelmed at how behind I am and then I just quit all together. This new project seems so simple, easy and very do-able for me.
As for me...I got my first "paid" job the other day. I have never charged for a session before and didn't charge for this one either....but my cute friend had another plan in mind. She left the money in my cell phone so I wouldn't find it until I had left. Sneaky little girl. I don't intend to start shooting as a pro for a few reasons...
1. I don't feel like I am ready yet. I need better equipment, and I still have a lot to learn!
2. I love giving a session as a "gift" to friends.
3. The most important reason is this....I have a history of learning new skills and then some how it turns into a business, I get bored and then I lose interest really quick. I never want to lose interest in photography! Never. One thing I might do is build a little studio in our basement when we finish it {hopefully this year} and I may start doing newborn sessions. I don't think I could ever get sick of that. But...who knows?
Thanks for all your comments patience as I try to improve my blog and learn to protect my images. I guess I am a little protective of my kids. Hopefully you will continue reading and join me this year on a road to improving our photography skills!

Yea! You are back! I love the family picture. And you'll be proud of me. I finally read my camera manual. I experimented with the manual settings over Christmas. Ruined quite a few photos but we'll get there. Welcome back!
